Beer dinner and tap takeover at Rhubarb

Asheville, NC: Rhubarb is excited to partner with Mother Earth Brewing out of Kinston, N.C. for a beer dinner and tap takeover as part of Asheville Beer Week on Thursday, May 29, at 6:30 p.m. The dinner is five courses with pairings for $60, plus tax and gratuity.

Dinner will include pairings like duck confit wild mushroom gnocchi with Second Wind Pale Ale.  The featured beers will be on tap all day May 29 at Rhubarb. An exclusive tapping of the Sisters of the Moon IPA cask  will happen at 9 p.m. and late-night bar snacks will be available. In keeping with Rhubarb’s philosophy of supporting sustainable producers, Mother Earth employs green brewing procedures and designed their facility to be eco-friendly with additions like a six kilowatt solar array, state-of-the-art tankless water heater and details like their bamboo tap handles.

Mother Earth beers that will be included in the dinner and the tap takeover are:

Weeping Willow Wit
Endless River Kolsch
Park Day Pilsner
Second Wind Pale Ale
Dark Cloud Dunkel
Sisters of the Moon (cask ale)
2012 Silent Night American Double/Imperial Stout

Rhubarb was opened in October 2013 by three-time James Beard nominee, chef and owner John Fleer. The menu is inspired by seasonal, local ingredients and pays homage to the bounty of regional and American cooking.  A wood-fired oven and grill complement the rustic creations.Wine selections are drawn entirely from winemakers from who produce using ecologically sustainable practices. The bar pays tribute to seasonal bounty and to the inventiveness of the early 20th century cocktail culture.
