Grove Park Inn’s Celtic Adventure Weekend is weather a change of lineup. Traditional Irish band McPeake ran into visa issues and had to cancel, so the resort quickly booked Seven Nations, a Celtic rock band form New York City. Seven Nations played Asheville a decade ago — read about it here.
In a pres release, Grove Park Inn writes, “We have an exciting change to our Celtic Weekend. Unfortunately, McPeake had to cancel their US tour but the luck of the Irish is on our side. We were able to bring Seven Nations to our stage on Friday night. …Seven Nations is not your father’s Celtic band. With a passionate, tender, and rollicking style that winningly veers from roots and folk to dance and fusion-rock, Seven Nations has earned a growing reputation as an adventurous band with a charismatic stage presence. What’s more…we’re bringing you two Celtic sensations on Friday. Opening on Friday evening will be Midnight at Kittredge, a duo that combines the talents of Andrew Finn Magill and Duncan Wickel. If you love Celtic and live in Asheville, well, we don’t have to speak to you about Andrew. For the rest of you, Andrew is a four-time gold medalist at the New York Fleadh Cheoil, and has twice competed at the All-Ireland Championships in Ireland. He hails from the Magill clan of Celtic musicians and studied with such masters as Seamus Connolly, Liz Carroll and Tommy Peoples, just to name a few.”
