Grateful Steps Short Story Contest

Local small press Grateful Steps is currently accepting entries for its first annual short story contest. According to a press release, “The contest winner will receive $300, and ten finalists will have their entries included in an e-book anthology to be published by Grateful Steps.”

The deadline for entries is midnight on Monday, April 30; entry fee is $20. Send by e-mail to contest@gratefulsteps.com. Judged by Asheville writer and author, Keith Flynn. Full contest rules can be found at gratefulsteps.com/styled-9/index.html.

More information: “The ten finalists will selected by Blue Ridge Parkway poet laureate Laura Hope-Gill and the staff of Grateful Steps, with Flynn, founder of the Asheville Poetry Review and six-time Pushcart Prize nominee, choosing the winner from among the finalists.

“Grateful Steps will publish the ten finalist entries in an free e-book anthology that will be made available through Barnes and Noble.com, Amazon’s Kindle store, and the Apple iBookstore—and through the non-profit publisher’s own website.”
