Asheville city government offices will be closed Dec. 24, 25, 26 and Jan. 1.
Garbage and recycling service will operate as normal on Wednesday Dec. 24. Collection will be suspended Thursday, Dec. 25 for the Christmas holiday. Thursday trash and recycling (“B” week) customers will receive collection on Friday, Dec. 26. Residents are asked to have both trash and recycling out by 7 a.m. for collection.
Garbage and recycling collection will operate as normal on Thursday, Jan. 1.
Asheville’s ART (Asheville Redefines Transit) routes and facilities will close after 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 24th, and will be closed all day on Dec. 25th. The last departing bus for each route leaving from the ART Station on Wednesday, December 24th are:
Route C – 4:30 pm
Route N1, S1, W1, W3 – 5:00 p.m.
Routes N, N2, E1, W2, W4, S2 – 5:30 p.m.
Route E2 – 5:15 p.m.
Route N3 – 6:05 p.m.
Route S3 – 4:00 p.m.
Route S4 – 6:05 p.m.
Route 170 – 5:00 p.m. (Last Black Mountain trip at noon)
ART will resume regular service Friday, Dec. 26 and will operate on holiday schedule on Jan. 1. For route and schedule information, go to ridetheart.com.
All City parks will remain open throughout the holiday 6:00 am – 10:00 pm. All recreation centers will be closed on Dec 24, 25, 26 and Jan 1, with the exception of Montford Center which will be open Dec 26, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for the Holiday Camp.
The Asheville Municipal Golf Course will be closed Dec 25, and the Food Lion Skate Park will be closed Dec 25 and Jan 1. The Western North Carolina Nature Center will be closed Dec. 24 and 25. For hours of operation and other information about the WNC Nature Center visit wncnaturecenter.com.
All public safety services, including police, fire and emergency response, will operate according to normal schedule – 24 hours a day, seven days a week – during the holiday.
Water Resources staff will be available for water related emergencies 24 hours a day over the holiday weekend. Customers can call the customer service line at (828) 251-1122 to report water related emergencies, leaks, breaks, and no water calls.
