This weekend, The French Broad Food Co-op will host a Truckload Sale, the organization’s first of what it hopes to make an annual affair.

The Truckload Sale, hosted at the co-op’s 90 Biltmore Ave. address, won’t appeal to only grocery-shoppers. Three other local organizations will attend the start-of-spring sale, attracting more attention and supporting important community causes.

The grocery co-op will be offering discounts on its products, MANNA FoodBank will be accepting food donations, Brother Wolf will bring puppies for adoption and Fifth Season will celebrate the coming spring by selling garden supplies.

The sale begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, ending at 5 p.m. — and starts back up at noon on Sunday, March 15, closing at 5 p.m.

The French Broad Food Co-op, Asheville’s only community-owned grocer, announces its first annual Truckload Sale. The sale will be held at the co-op, 90 Biltmore Ave, in downtown Asheville, on Saturday, March 14, from 9am-5pm, and Sunday, March 15, from noon-5pm. The sale, which is open to the public, includes discounts of over 30% off the co-op’s regular prices.

The sale features full cases of staple items and customer favorites, including organic beans and soups, protein and energy bars, paper products, soaps, culinary and medicinal herbs, and much more. Quantities are limited, and there are no rain checks. All sales are final.

Several community organizations will also be participating in the weekend’s events. MANNA Food Bank will be accepting food donations. Brother Wolf Animal Rescue will sponsor a puppy adoption. Fifth Season Gardening Company will be selling spring gardening supplies. Members and the public are also welcome to shop at the co-op during the event.

“This is a great opportunity for our members and the general public to stock up on staples and their favorite items, and to support a community event,” said general manager Bobby Sullivan.
