Malaprop’s Bookstore,Cafe hosts ‘Writing in Circles’ writers this Sunday

This Sunday, July 26, Malaprop’s Bookstore and Cafe will be hosting Peggy Millin and the local writers who contributed to Writing in Circles, an anthology inspired by Millin and a companion piece to Millin’s well-received and widely-read Women, Writing, and Soul-Making.

The event will include a writing exercise led by Millin, readings from the writers of the anthology, book signings, Q&A time and chatting with the local authors.

This event runs from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m  and is open to the public.

Women’s Writing Circles to be Celebrated at Malaprop’s Bookstore/Cafe
June 16, 2015 – ASHEVILLE, NC – The end of spring this year saw the publication of Writing in Circles from Sunburst Writers, an anthology inspired byPeggy Tabor Millin and a companion piece to Millin’s well-received and widely-read Women, Writing, and Soul-Making.

On Sunday, July 26th from 2 – 5pm, Malaprop’s Bookstore and Cafe will host Peggy Millin and the local writers who contributed to Writing in Circles. The event will include a writing exercise led by Millin, readings from the writers of the anthology, book signings, Q&A time and chatting with the local authors.

Millin has been developing writers for nearly 20 years and created the Centered Writing Practice she uses in retreats, private coaching sessions and through her onlinewriting prompts. Over the years, there have been hundreds of retreat and workshop participants and nearly two thousand women follow her blog and use her writing prompts to fuel their ideas and work.

As the companion to Women, Writing, and Soul-Making, Writing in Circles is the culmination of 12 years of gathering in retreat settings and is the result of the synchrony of place, silence, and fellowship that occurs when women come together to write and move beyond fear to let the pen guide them inward toward their truth.

The women who contributed to this collection live across the US, from Florida to Alaska and Puerto Rico. They are teachers, psychiatrists, mothers, attorneys, beach-combers, hikers, IT gurus, travelers, survivors and pastors, but all are writers of immense talent, passion and insight. Several contributors to Circles have also published their own work, been featured on NPR’s Tales from the South and made writing a more prominent part of their lives.

This event is open to the media and the public.
