Having a (Turquoise) Ball

It was an elaborate scene Saturday night at The Turquoise Ball, a benefit for the Asheville Area Arts Council. Everything — from the walk up to the Orange Peel, where Joe Tse and his dance crew performed and the city’s Easel Rider mobile arts lab camped, to the stage where a giant aqua castle had been constructed — seemed to glow. Or maybe that was the turquoise lighting …

The list of performers, businesses and artists involved is a long one: French Broad Chocolate Lounge, HOWLPOP (fashion designs), Fine Arts League of the Carolinas, The Wedge, Craggie Brewing, Pisgah Brewing, Mela, Boca, Shady Grove, Franklin Keel and Friends, Barrett Smith, Sage Sansone, a fashion show featuring works from Ship to Shore, Royal Peasantry, Unabashed Apparel, ReCyclone, West One Salon, Makeup at the Grove Arcade, SANTOS, the ETERNITY urban dance troupe, Paper Tiger, DJ Marley Carroll, the Aerial Space Cadets, Asheville Hoops, Jason Scott Furr, Leanne Campagna, LEAF, Envision Eye Care, Biltmore, Koi Koi, True Blue Art, Spa Theology and more.

Could you give us a follow-up on how much money the Turquoise Ball raised (after expenses)?
