AC-T: Moral Monday leader to speak in Brevard

The Asheville Citizen-Times reports that the Rev. William Barber, president of the North Carolina chapter of the NAACP and leader of the Moral Monday movement challenging legislation passed by the Republican-controlled General Assembly, will speak in Brevard Wednesday evening at the invitation of a newly formed group in Transylvania County.

Barber, president of the state chapter since 2005, comes at the request of Transylvanians Forward Together, a local outgrowth of the series of Moral Monday protests that began in Raleigh in April and continued weekly for months. The Transylvania group is in the process of becoming a county branch of the NAACP.
