Local hip hop duo CrazyHorse & Colston will release a video for their new song, “Makeshift Spaceships,” at Asheville Music Hall on Thursday, Feb. 20. According to their bio, both MC’s have been “heavily influenced not only by hip hop music, but also by rock, blues, folk, and bluegrass (among others) and have blended many of these genres together to make their latest album, Backroads & Bonfires, which features many talented local musicians such as Don Lewis of Sons of Ralph and members of the popular reggae group, Common Foundation. The two strive to embody the spirit of their Appalachian home while at the same time fighting against a culture of disrespect and superficiality that has become increasingly popular and acceptable in our modern era of music.”
