ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The Boys and Girls Clubs of Buncombe County is joining forces with five Jersey Mike’s Subs restaurants in the Asheville area for the 4th Annual March “Month of Giving” fundraising campaign. During the month of March, customers can make a donation to the charity at any area Jersey Mike’s restaurant.
The campaign will culminate in Jersey Mike’s “Day of Giving” on Wednesday, March 26, when 100 percent of the day’s sales at Jersey Mike’s locations nationwide will go to more than 100 different charities including hospitals, youth organizations, food banks and more.
On the March 26 Day of Giving, all Asheville area Jersey Mike’s restaurants will donate 100 percent of the day’s sales to the Boys and Girls Club of Buncombe County. Last year’s Month of Giving campaign raised $1.7 million for 86 different charities nationwide. Since 2010, Jersey Mike’s locations throughout the country have raised nearly $7.5 million for worthy local causes and distributed more than 600,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.
“I would like to extend a personal invitation to come in and enjoy a Jersey Mike’s sub during our Month of Giving,” said Peter Cancro, Jersey Mike’s founder and CEO, who started the company when he was only 17 years old. “This year we hope to raise more than $2 million to support these local causes so we can bring hope to all those involved with the charities and make a difference in people’s lives.”
