About one in 10 adults develops carpal tunnel syndrome at some point in life. Park Ridge Health will present the free event, “Carpal Tunnel: Fact vs. Fiction,” on Thursday, April 3, at 5:30 p.m. at the Hilton Asheville Biltmore Park. Presenter James Phelps, M.D., M.P.T., board-certified orthopedic surgeon and hand & upper extremity specialist with Southeastern Sports Medicine, will cover carpal tunnel syndrome, a condition that affects the hand and wrist, often starts with numbness, and can lead to difficulty performing everyday, fine-motor tasks.
