PRESS RELEASE:
A-B Tech Community College will host an Open House event for its new Advanced Manufacturing Center from 1 to 5 p.m., Friday, August 12 in the Maple Building to showcase new short-term training geared toward finding employment in WNC’s booming Advanced Manufacturing sector.
The event is open to the public and will feature A-B Tech’s new Advanced Manufacturing Programs including Industrial Maintenance & Automation, Machining Fundamentals & CNC Operation, Aerospace & Structural Composites, and IPC Soldering Certification.
Participants will be able to meet the college’s instructors, who are experts in highly technical, highly specialized fields. They will also be able to see state-of-the-art training equipment in action, and learn about well-paying, sustainable career opportunities in the region. The college currently trains GE Aviation employees in composites.
