Congressional Candidate Andy Millard to host Town Hall Meeting
COLUMBUS, N.C. (July 28, 2016): Andy Millard, the Democratic nominee for North Carolina’s 10th Congressional District, is hosting a Town Hall Meeting on Thursday, August 11th at 7:30 p.m. at the Mill Spring Agricultural Center. The Town Hall Meeting, called “NC10 Speaks,” will be Millard’s first in a series of listening sessions that he will host throughout NC’s 10th Congressional District. Millard—a financial planner, a former school teacher and principal—is running against incumbent Representative Patrick McHenry (R).
“Your congressman is your closest representative in Washington,” said Millard. “I want to hear the concerns of those I’m running to represent.” In addition to the Polk County event, Millard will meet with voters at town hall meetings in Gaston, Catawba, Rutherford, Cleveland, Lincoln and Buncombe counties.
Andy Millard is a Polk County business owner and community leader running to serve the people of the Tenth Congressional District. He believes we need a whole new approach to governing. “Congress has long since dropped any appearance of working together; it is now just a forum for posturing and name-calling. Meanwhile, our district, state, and nation continue to face tough challenges that are not addressed,” he said. Millard wants to bring his long experience working with diverse groups to the United States House of Representatives. “Congress’ approval rating is in the cellar for a reason,” he says. “We need a whole new approach, and that means a new congressman.”
