PRESS RELEASE from Thirsty Monk:

ASHEVILLE, NC—August 23, 2016—Thirsty Monk is bringing the rare, the exceptional and the downright unusual to Western North Carolina, filling its taps with highly sought after beers for its 7th annual Thirsty Fest. The week-long event is set for September 5–9, 2016 at the flagship Thirsty Monk location in downtown Asheville, complemented by one-day celebrations at Thirsty Monk’s Biltmore Park and Woodfin pubs on Thursday, September 8.

Each year, the nationally recognized beer bar reserves the best of its draught collection for a week dedicated to particularly outstanding and uncommon brews. Thirsty Fest-goers have the opportunity to enjoy exciting finds hardly ever poured in Western North Carolina and special selections from local and regional neighbors.

“Thirsty Fest is one of our premier events and one that we plan for throughout the year,” says Owner, Barry Bialik. “Our Head Beer Buyer, Joanna Postlethwaite, has worked tirelessly to create a tap list that embodies our passion for sharing extraordinary beer with the Asheville community.”

“People know Thirsty Monk as a place they can go to find special beers all the time, but, even for us, the beers we’ll tap at Thirsty Fest are standouts,” says Postlethwaite. “Whether you’re a fan of sours and wild ales, or big, bold and barrel-aged beers, this is your week to get the best of the best in one place.”

Featured beers at the downtown location include Allagash James Bean, Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout, Grimm Telekinesis and The Bruery Tart of Darkness. The Biltmore Park pub will tap kegs of Stone Farking Wheaton w00tstout, Knee Deep Big Sipper, Wicked Weed Barrel Aged Lunatic and Avery Chai High, among others, while the Woodfin location’s draught lineup includes Foothills Barrel Aged Sexual Chocolate, Bell’s Quinnanan Falls Special Lager and Thirsty Monk’s own Barrel Aged Normtrooper.
