Asheville Outlets hosts Ingles Ultimate Dog Competition, Sept. 14-Sept. 16

Asheville Outlets will host a weekend of free family fun from Friday, September 14, through Sunday, September 16, 2018. Ingles Ultimate Air Dog Competition (UAD), always a crowd favorite, will be held all three days. A Community Yard Sale, Health Fair for People & Pets, Cover Dog Competition and Junior League of Asheville Touch-A-Truck round out the weekend activities.

Air Dog spectators will enjoy the high-flying athleticism of some of the country’s top dogs as they jump, dive and catch their way through a variety of challenges. The event will include the “Fetch-It, Catch-It and Chase-It” games, found only at Ultimate Air Dogs.

Ingles Ultimate Air Dog Competition 

Asheville Outlets will team up with Ingles and iHeart Radio – Asheville to host the Ingles Ultimate Air Dog Competition (UAD) three day regional qualifier. Dogs will compete in a 90’ pool constructed in front of Field & Stream.

Ultimate Air Dogs is one of the country’s premiere dock jumping organizations and features both novice competitors and seasoned jumpers.

Community Yard Sale 

7:30 a.m. to 12 noon

Asheville Outlets will partner with Splurge – Custom Lighting, Antiques & Art to host a Community Yard Sale on Saturday, September 15th from 7:30 a.m. to 12 noon. The event will be held in the parking lot behind Gap Factory Outlet. The Community Yard Sale will feature various yard sale booths set-up by residents and businesses. Habitat for Humanity RESTORE will also be on-site to take donations after the event.

Touch-A-Truck Family Festival 

11:00 a.m. to 4:00 pm.

The Junior League of Asheville will host the Touch-A-Truck Family Festival. The event will be held in the parking lot behind the food court from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Both kids and kids at heart will have the opportunity to see, touch, climb and learn about vehicles of all types, including public service, emergency, utility, construction, garbage, transportation, delivery and even a helicopter – all in one place!

Additional activities include a market featuring local arts and crafts, non-profit organization booths and displays, food and beverage stations and special attractions. Parental supervision is required. Admission is $5 in advance and at the door. Children 3 and under are free.

The Junior League of Asheville, Inc. is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving our community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.

Health Fair for People & Pets 

1:00 p.m. to 4:00 pm.

Asheville Outlets will team up with CarePartners Foundation and Critter Magazine to host a Health Fair for People & Pets. The event will include a variety of health-related booths and displays, demonstrations and entertainment and will feature service providers, healthcare agencies, community organizations and other vendors who will provide everything from health-related demonstrations to educational materials on health, fitness and wellness issues. There will be topical information for all ages. The event will also feature activities for pets and their families including: educational advice, obedience tips, informational booths and displays, pet adoptions and much more!  A portion of the proceeds from the Health Fair for People & Pets will benefit CarePartners Foundation and local spay/neuter organizations and rescue transport programs.
CarePartners mission is to preserve the availability of post-acute healthcare. CarePartners Foundation is committed to the health and well-being of the people of Western North Carolina and focuses on the needs of those who receive care from CarePartners, which provides Rehabilitation, Home Health, Adult Care and Hospice.

Critter Magazine Cover Dog Competition

1:00 p.m.

Dog owners who think their dog should be “in pictures” will love the Critter Magazine Cover Dog Competition that will be held at 1:00 p.m. Cost to participate is a $25 donation. The winner will be featured on the cover of Critter Magazine. A portion of the proceeds will benefit local spay/neuter organizations and rescue transport programs.
