Press release from Kick It Event Management:
Asheville’s chocolatey running event is back for its 13th year. Races will take place at the Isaac Dickson Elementary School on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020.
This year we are adjusting the courses and are back running flat in the River Arts District. Both the 5k and 10k are limited to 500 runners each this year. Both races have special youth and senior pricing to encourage our younger runners to start running and older runners to keep running.
The kids who opt not to run the 5K or 10K have two other races to choose from; the Marshmallow Dash is short and flat and for younger kids, while the 1K Hill Climb is a bit more of a challenge. Both start at 8:30 a.m. and are untimed fun runs. Registration for these shorter events is only $10 and includes a finisher button for all participants.
Both 5k/10k races are timed and start in front of the school. 10K starts at 9 a.m., 5K at 9:15 a.m. We are excited to announce our presenting sponsor Black Orthodontics. Hot cocoa handmade onsite with ingredients from French Broad Chocolate Factory and Whole Foods.
Our instant results booth will be provided by Iheart Media Asheville. Gift certificate to our top runners supplied by Jus Running.
NEW THIS YEAR! French Broad Chocolate and Catawba Brewing are teaming up to create a special Hot Chocolate themed beer as part of the event. Beer release will be on January 2nd. Stay tuned for specific beer information.

Proceeds from this event go to the Isaac Dickson PTO which supports the teachers and students of the Isaac Dickson Elementary School.
