Author Linda L. Harley to hold book reading at Malaprop’s Feb. 17

Press release from Grateful Steps Publishing House:

Grateful Steps Publishing House is pleased to announce that Hendersonville’s Linda L. Harley will be doing a book reading at Malaprop’s Bookstore/Café in Asheville on Feb. 17 at 6 p.m. She will discuss her new book, Office in Back: Falling in love is the easy part. Negotiating the living is the hard part.

The other authors presenting are Barbara Kimbrell (Drunks, Monks and Mental Illness) and Angela Evans (Invisible).

Office in Back is a novel about a troubled married couple who live in a small town in the mountains of Western North Carolina. They fell in love for all the right reasons, but the “living” got in the way of their loving. The reader joins the couple in their journey as they commit to couples’ therapy in their challenge to revitalize and heal their marriage.

The male partner in the couple, C.J., is the narrator of the book, giving the reader a rare opportunity to “get inside the head” of a man struggling to understand how he can save his second marriage from the same fate as his first.

Office in Back is a template on how a good therapist functions, and it masterfully illustrates the counseling process. For anyone in a “loving, bumpy relationship,” it makes couples’ therapy very user-friendly and less intimidating. It provides an entertaining, yet practical account of a couple’s journey to reconnect, grow and rediscover themselves.

Linda L. Harley is a North Carolina Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a North Carolina Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, bringing over thirty years of experience to individuals, couples and families/stepfamilies. She lives in Hendersonville, North Carolina, with her three horses, one dog and a cockatoo. Harley is available for interviews, as well as book signings, programs and readings. Office in Back is published by Grateful Steps, Asheville’s traditional, independent, non-profit publisher located on Crest Mountain in West Asheville.
