Press release from Asheville Police Department:
At approximately 2:50 a.m. on August 16, the Asheville Police Department responded to a stabbing on Bartlett Street. Officers arrived to find a male victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim was transported to Mission Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
After further investigation, officers determined that an altercation had occurred between a group of individuals near the bus stop at the corner of Bartlett Street and Ora Street. The case is currently under under investigation by the Criminal Investigations Section (CIS). One person of interest has been identified, and detectives are working to identify additional parties involved in the incident.

Since January 1, 2020 the Asheville Police Department has responded to 39 calls where a victim has been stabbed. The Asheville Police Department is committed to addressing violent crime within our community.
