Press release from Women’s March on Asheville:
The Women’s March on Asheville will take place on Sunday, September 20, 2020 at 5PM. Because of the pandemic, in lieu of a physical march, we will stream a live rally & concert on YouTube on September 20, 2020 from 5pm till 6pm. The YouTube weblink will be posted on WomensMarchOnAsheville.com by noon on September 20th.
This virtual rally & concert will include live and pre-recorded segments from local musicians, activists and community members. In addition to promoting our mission, we’d like to emphasize our message not only to “get out the vote” but to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th amendment that grants women the right to vote, and honor the suffragists who fought a lengthy and difficult struggle; victory took decades of agitation and protest.
