Press release from Asheville Police Department:
Shortly after 2 a.m. on September 29, the Asheville Police Department (APD) responded to what was initially reported as gunshots being fired on Livingston Street in the Southside community. While on their way to the call, the officers were informed that at least one person had been shot. An initial investigation revealed that a total of three victims, two of whom were 49 years old, and a third that was 25 years old, had been shot inside a residence on Livingston Street. None of the wounds sustained by the victims were life-threatening, although one is still hospitalized in serious, but stable condition.
Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Section (CIS) responded to the scene in order to determine the circumstances of the incident and to collect evidence. The investigation is ongoing. The information collected so far indicates that this was an isolated incident and that no ongoing threat to the public exists.

Since January 1, 2020 the Asheville Police Department has responded to 455 calls for service regarding a gun discharge or individual(s) with a gunshot wound. There have been 36 victims who have been shot in Asheville since January 1, 2020. The Asheville Police Department is committed to addressing gun violence in our community.
