Press release from Western Carolina Rescue Ministries:
Western Carolina Rescue Ministries (WCRM) is pleased to announce its annual Week of Thankfulness event, happening the week of Thanksgiving, November 23rd through November 27th. This event will take place each evening from 4:30PPM-5:30PM at Western Carolina Rescue Ministries (225 Patton Avenue).
Each evening we will celebrate a different theme; love, joy, peace, kindness and thankfulness. For clients staying in our facility, the dining room will be transformed with decorations reflecting each theme. For those taking to-go meals, they will have small notes of encouragement taped to their to-go boxes, which reflect the theme of the night.
Everyone will receive a different giveaway each night including our Covid-19 Compassion kits, which contain items for staying healthy and protected over the coming colder months, blankets, foot care kits, scarves and hats, and some sweet treats for the holidays!
The holidays can be a lonely time for many of our clients, and Week of Thankfulness gives us an opportunity to show them some extra love! We generally use this week as a time for extra volunteers to come and help us share some holiday cheer, but because of Covid-19, we are limiting the number of volunteers able to serve. Our clients are in need 365 days a year, and volunteerism or donations are needed just as much in July as they are in November! If you are interested in volunteering, please visit our website and fill out a volunteer application form.
We would also like to give a special thanks to Advent Health for their support and help with this event!
