Press release via city of Hendersonville:
As part of the American Rescue Plan passed by the federal government in 2021, the city of Hendersonville received $4.5 million in relief funds to be spent by the end of 2024. The city has decided to designate $1 million of the money it has received from the American Rescue Plan to nonprofit organizations serving the Hendersonville area; $250,000 will be awarded to nonprofits each year over the next four years through an application process.
All funding requests must be related to COVID-19 mitigation or recovery efforts and fall within the parameters of at least one of the following goals set by the U.S. Department of the Treasury along with other requirements listed at the end of the application form.
American Rescue Plan goals:
- Make necessary improvements to water, sewer, or broadband infrastructure
- Replace lost revenue caused by the pandemic
- Support public health expenditures
- Address negative economic impacts caused by the pandemic
Organizations that meet these criteria may apply for American Rescue Plan funding using theAmerican Rescue Plan Special Appropriations Application available at https://www.hendersonvillenc.gov/arpfunding.
The use of requested funds must be directly related to COVID-19 recovery efforts to qualify.
