County Offices to Close for Thanksgiving Holiday
Buncombe County Government offices will be closed Nov. 25-26 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. The following services will also be affected.
Buncombe County Public Libraries:
All libraries will be closed for Thanksgiving Nov. 25-29 (note: Libraries are closed on Sundays and Mondays). The Digital Library is always open to browse thousands of titles.
Buncombe County Parks:
All parks will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 25. The Festival of Lights returns to Lake Julian Park Dec. 1-23.
Buncombe County Landfill and Transfer Station:
The Landfill and Transfer Station will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 25, and will operate on their regular schedule Friday, Nov. 26.
Waste Pro:
Please be advised there will be no Waste Pro collection on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 25. Normal Thursday collection will take place on Friday and Friday normal collection will take place on Saturday.
Public Safety:
Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office front desk will be closed Nov. 25-26, all other operations will be on a normal schedule. EMS and 911 maintain normal operations.Public Health:
The COVID-19 vaccine clinic at 40 Coxe Ave. will be closed Nov. 25-26. Find more information at BuncombeReady.org. If you are having symptoms consistent with COVID-19, get tested. Testing locations can be found at Find My Testing Site NC.
Buncombe County Courthouse:
Buncombe County courts observe the North Carolina Judicial Branch Holiday schedule and will be closed Nov. 25-26 for the Thanksgiving holiday.
