Do you want to make the world a better place and believe that creativity is our best tool for fixing big problems and solving major mysteries? Ever wonder what it would be like to invent something? Do you like to cook, tinker, fix stuff or take things apart for fun? Then you should come to Maker Faire Asheville on the campus of A-B Tech, on May 7th!
Asheville is uniquely positioned in Western North Carolina, an area rich with maker and craft culture and history. We are in the seat of a growing manufacturing economy that includes craft beer, outdoor gear, airplane parts, boutique bike parts and musical instruments — to name a small fraction of stuff made right here. Join the celebration of innovative and creative Asheville area makers at the 2nd annual Maker Faire Asheville. Maker Faire Asheville is the result of passionate local makers and educators who wish to build and celebrate maker culture at its most diverse and inspiring best.
What: We call it the Greatest Show (& Tell) on Earth — a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness. Glimpse the future and get inspired! Maker Faire is a gathering of fascinating, curious people who enjoy learning and who love sharing what they can do. From engineers to artists to scientists to crafters, Maker Faire is a venue for these “makers” to show hobbies, experiments and projects. Part crafting, part brewing, part growing, part programming, part puppetry, part mechatronics — Maker Faire Asheville (MFA) celebrates all things uniquely creative to Western North Carolina.
