Nominations sought for CoThinkk’s Community Leadership, Ally, and Next Generation awards

Press release from CoThinkk:

Community nominations for the seventh annual awards event are now open through July 15th. CoThinkk uplifts leaders of color and allies who are playing a critical role in the social change ecosystem of Western NC and working to shift the narrative of communities of color. Designed specifically to create supportive networks, accelerate systemic change and seed new initiatives through a more equitable shared leadership model that raises the bar and causes for a more inclusive philanthropic ecosystem.

“The Community Leadership, Ally, and Next Generation awards are special because they continue to highlight the leadership of invisible leaders in our communities that are doing amazing work and heavy lifting that often goes unrecognized,” Tracey Greene-Washington, founder and author of  Choosing Purposeful Alignment: The Messy Middle of TransformationAlignment, explained.

Once the nominations process is complete, CoThinkk will ask the community to take part in a public voting process. The public voting process will start July 2nd and end on July 15, 2022. CoThinkk will award eight total awards: four community leadership awards, two next generation awards (21 and under) and two awards highlighting community allies.

CoThinkk started in 2014 with the intention to deploy investment strategies that address systems change and centers racial equity through targeting education, economic mobility/opportunity, and leadership development towards impacting some of the most critical social issues facing BIPOC, African-American and Latinx communities in Western North Carolina.

Since its inception Cothinkk has dedicated itself to social change philanthropy by bringing together community leaders who care about the economic and social well-being of communities of color in Asheville and Western North Carolina. CoThinkk’s total community investment has reached well over $400,000.

The CoThinkk community leadership award recipients will be announced at our annual event held in the fall. Learn more at www.CoThinkk.org.
