Suspect in Denny’s Pawn Shop theft ring pleads guilty to organized retail theft

Press release from Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office

Last October, the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office announced criminal charges against 14 individuals in an organized theft ring. The Sheriff’s Office ultimately recovered more than 4,000 stolen items from Denny’s Jewelry & Pawn in Arden.

This week one of the suspects, Alyssia Nichole Lindsey of Clyde, pled guilty to Organized Retail Theft, Felony Larceny, and Misdemeanor Larceny. Ms. Lindsey has been sentenced as part of her plea agreement and will spend 17 to 30 months actively incarcerated with the North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections.

Other suspects involved in the theft ring are still pending adjudication related to this case.

“The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office is thankful for our partnership with the Buncombe County District Attorney’s Office over the course of this entire investigation and are pleased with the outcome of the plea deal,” says Captain Angie Tullis with the Criminal Investigations Division of the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office.
