The Thomas Wolfe Auditorium is a huge asset to Asheville and deserves to be completely renovated. The Asheville Symphony has performed there for so many years and is a beloved part of the music scene in Asheville for listeners of all kinds.
When plans are developed, high priority should go to best views of the stage and for best acoustics. For steps, handrails are needed, and attention must be given to accessibility for set development and for attendees of all ages. Go for the best auditorium. Asheville deserves it!

Asheville deserves a lot of things that all medium/large cities experience. How about:
A water system that is reliable.
A police force that is adequately staffed for the crime rate of the city.
A police force that is adequately staffed such that egregious driving violations (speeding, weaving, etc.) are stopped
through regular enforcement.
A street department that is funded to reasonably maintain streets and alleyways.
A transporation department that doesn’t have to rely on public requests when important signage and road markings
(e.g. pedestrian crosswalks) need to be improved or remarked.
A transporation deparment that monitors accident rates on streets throughout the city in some formalized/routine fashion such that speed limits and other methods can be employed to reduce injuries and fatalities.
A public works department that doesn’t have a 2+ year backlog of dead and dangerous trees that require take down/removal.
A city with leadership that ensures core services are achieved including public health and safety before dabbling in nieceties.

Excellent! Thanks for the insight. Asheville so badly needs people who will rally to create a good foundation for this city. It is so childish in a fondness for the cutsie stuff, with no thought for what to do when there’s no water, sewage and the real necessities that a great city stands on. Asheville, quit blowing money on frivolities. It won’t work.
