APD seeks public’s help identifying assailants using Orbeez-style water pellet guns

Press release from Asheville Police Department:

The Asheville Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying individuals involved in recent incidents in which resembled Orbeez-style water pellet guns were used to target pedestrians.

Over the past week, APD responded to multiple reports of individuals being targeted by unknown suspects shooting in what is believed to be Orbeez-style water pellets from a white SUV. These incidents occurred across various locations within the city, mainly in the downtown area and surrounding neighborhoods.

Detectives are specifically seeking information to identify two black males depicted in attached photos related to these incidents. The white male and the vehicle seen in the photos have already been identified.

The Asheville Police Department is urging anyone who was targeted or struck during these incidents and has not yet contacted the police to do so immediately by texting TIP2APD to 847411 or using the TIP2APD smartphone application (search “Asheville PD” in your app store).  You can also contact APD at (828) 252-1110.
