News release from UScellular:

This holiday season, UScellular is giving back to the Asheville community by donating $235,000 worth of wireless phones, tablets and hotspots with two years of service to BeLoved Asheville to support its mission of to create a more just and equitable society rooted in community and creativity. This marks the third year that UScellular has proudly partnered with BeLoved Asheville to provide holiday items for families in Western North Carolina.

As part of UScellular’s “Gift of Connection” program, the donation to BeLoved Asheville is one of 50 gifts to non-profits across the country. The donation to BeLoved Asheville represents the largest contribution in this year’s campaign. The company is helping organizations by providing needed supplies in gratitude for their dedication to building connections in their local communities.

“We are honored to once again to have UScellular partner with us. We know a big struggle for so many families since the Hurricane has been communication and connectivity,” said Amy Cantrell, director of BeLoved Asheville. “So many lost their communication tools in the storm. We are so grateful US Cellular has joined us to make this holiday season bright for those devastated by Helene and restore the tools of connection for so many families who lost everything.”

To further support equitable learning opportunities and keep local residents connected, UScellular is donating 100 additional wireless hotspots with two years of service to BeLoved Asheville. This partnership builds on UScellular’s previous work with BeLoved Asheville through the After School Access Program, which provides free mobile hotspots and service to nonprofits supporting youth and families after school, ensuring safe internet access for homework and education. With this latest contribution, the total value of hotspots and service donated is $394,100 to BeLoved Asheville.

“We’re proud to provide Beloved Asheville with a donation of more than $235,000 in wireless devices and service as they continue to be a pillar of support for the Asheville community in particular during the trying times after Hurricane Helene,” said, Daniel Mabry, store manager for UScellular in western North Carolina. “Giving back is a part of UScellular’s commitment to connect people to what matters most, and we’re honored to assist Beloved Asheville again this holiday season.”
