Planning our your summer reading? Here’s your one stop for all things book-oriented — plus a double dose of literary inspiration: Blue Ridge Bookfest.
The free event kicks off today (Friday, May 18) with workshops beginning at 1:30 p.m., and an Honoree’s Address by Elizabeth Kostova (author The Historian and The Swan Theives) at 6:30 p.m.
Tomorrow (Saturday, May 19) is the a full day of activities, kicking off at 8 a.m. with author presentation from 8:45 a.m.-3 p.m. Presenting authors include Joseph Bathanti, Georgia Bonesteel, Wayne Caldwell, Nan K. Chase, Peter T. Deutermann, Marjorie Hudson, Jacqueline Lundquist, Rich McDaniel, Valerie Nieman, Rose Senehi, Susan Gregg Gilmore, Michael Wallis, Kirk Neely, Mark de Castrique and Scott Pratt. In addition to presentations, authors will be on hand to sign books, and Malaprop’s will be selling books. Lunch will be for sale in the Blue Ridge Conference Hall.
The festival (which is free!) takes place at the Blue Ridge Conference Hall on the Blue Ridge Community College Campus in Flat Rock. Find driving direction here.
