Local comedian Tom Chalmers celebrates this week’s presidential inauguration with a special political review. Oh Boy Obama! Goodbye Bush, Don’t Let the Door Hit You: An Evening of Comedy, Commentary and Camaraderie runs Thursday, Jan. 22, through Saturday, Jan. 24, 7:30 p.m. nightly, at North Carolina Stage Company.
“While Washington is busy picking up the piles of confetti, Chalmers will be poking fun at the cast of characters that helped to create this groundbreaking changing of the guard,” reads a press release for the production. “With a winning ticket of songs, sketches and standup comedy, Chalmers and special guests will deliver on their campaign promise to bring the funny on a bipartisan basis.”
Chalmers is perhaps best known locally as Crumpet the Elf in ACT’s staing of The Santaland Diaries. He also wrote and stars in Harm for the Holidays.
Tickets for Oh Boy Obama! are $9. Info: 239-0263.
