Moogfest on the horizon with just-announced fest

We’ve basically been missing the action and amazement of Moogfest since last Halloween weekend ended. What does AC Entertainment have to keep us going until next Halloween weekend and the arrival of Moogfest 2011? The just-announced Halfway to Moogfest series, planned for the Orange Peel April 29 to May 1. That should tide us over for a while …

Here are the details, from AC:

The countdown to Moogfest 2011 is officially underway! The extraordinary three-day festival celebrating the innovative spirit of sonic pioneer Robert Moog will be back in downtown Asheville during Halloween weekend, October 28 – 30.

We’re so excited about Moogfest 2011 that we’ve decided to celebrate with a special weekend marking the halfway point to this year’s event. The first annual “Halfway to Moogfest 2011” weekend will take place on April 29 – May 1 at The Orange Peel, a 1,000-capacity club named by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the best rock clubs in the country, in Asheville. The event will feature performances by:

The Family Tour featuring Atmosphere, Blueprint, Grieves with Budo, Sab the Artist and DJ Abilities

Friday, April 29, 8 p.m.

Madlib (DJ Set) and Washed Out.
Saturday, April 30, 8 p.m.

RUSKO with Doorly.
Sunday, May 1, 8 p.m.

Special early bird tickets to Moogfest 2011 will go on sale during the Halfway weekend … and, who knows, we may even let you know one or two more of the exciting things in store for October. We’ll also have chances to win VIP passes to Moogfest 2011.

A portion of the proceeds from Halfway to Moogfest 2011 will go to benefit the Bob Moog Foundation.

Let’s see some serious electronic artists… What do these un-graceful hip hopers have to do with Moog??

“un-graceful”? “serious”? By what standards do these definitions hinge?

    Also, what’s a hip hoper?

I don’t think Moogfest is supposed to be strictly Moog Music. Has it ever? It appears to be about innovate ‘electronic’ music. Well, it’s about money, actually. But you know what I mean.

Support The Moog Foundation! Everyone go and tell your friends to go. I personally can’t wait for the event. See you all there.
