Fashion shows are meant to be an event. Asheville fashion shows, however, take that concept a step farther. No folding chairs in the mall atrium here; no Junior Miss models strutting formal wear and sweater sets. Instead, local runways offer the perfect setting for new music, experimental artwork, modern dance and (of course) edgy local style.
La Boutique Fortuna promises to be nothing less. The evening of fashion, art and fantasy, scheduled for the Garage at Biltmore (101 Fairview Road, Suite B, Asheville, 505-2663) this Saturday (Oct. 13) at 8 p.m., includes wearables from retro boutique Vintage Moon and designers Tegonia, ARTeries by Stina, Rainbow Black, Bliss and More than Mammal.
The runway show is followed by Cabaret at 10 p.m. Tickets are $8 at the door, with V.I.P. seats for $13.
