The One Stop Deli and Bar is now open (it’s in the renovated space where Stellas used to be). Tonight, catch Discordian Society with Actual Proof. And don’t forget to check out the menu.

We sent Chris Wood ought to get a look at the place. Here’s the full schedule, featuring a regular Tuesday night funk jam and Woody Wood & Friends on Wednesdays.

I hope this place suceeds. I did not care much for Stella Blue … a real dump!

Everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion but I don’t think Stella Blue should be categorically characterized as a dump. It was a nice, clean, professionally run venue for a number of years (late 90’s to mid 2000’s or so). It took a dive following an unfortunate series of events. Yes, I will agree that it became a dump over the last few years. I was last there at the end of May and it was awful…a shell of its former self. It was an awesome space where many legendary Asheville shows took place. The sound system is really stellar.

The new people are injecting new life into this awesome space. They appear to take pride in themselves which will ultimately be visible in the work they do with the space and the overall experience of the patrons of their establishment.

Nice post and I also was sorry to see it become a dump … hopefully the new owners will do a nice job to bring the place back to life!

Ah well, another local bar/music club down the tubes. Happily our restaurants still have a shorter life span than our music clubs. At least the new place isn’t named after a Grateful Dead song. Geniass productions books the music here now according to their website, so expect some Mo’ Daddy’s-esque music fare I’m assuming? The food looks intriguing though.

Stella’s was the downstairs that is now The One Stop.

Stella Blue was the upstairs that is being remodeled into the Asheville Music Hall.

We have plenty of music clubs and that was the problem for the old Stella Blue … they could not keep up! I like most of the venues especially the outdoor ones like Pisgah and Highland!

The One Stop is where Stella Blue downstairs used to be and Geniass Productions will be bringing you the finest music possible 6 nights/week.

In OCT or so, we will open up Asheville Music Hall, a 360cap room where Stella upstairs used to be. That space will primarily be reserved for National Acts.

The Tuesday Night Funk Jam starts up tonite and is FREE, at The One Stop, and it’s also .50cent wing night, including Tempeh!

to answer someone’s previous comment about “mo daddy’s esque” music…we will be bringing in some of the same acts that would play there, and we will be bringing in lots of new acts, national acts, etc. There will be no format or genre of music we book, per se, we just want to bring in quality music of all types, period.

Geniass Productions has no ownership in The One Stop or Asheville Music Hall, they are the exclusive Talent Buyers for both rooms.

p.s Discordian society???? I have never seen such eye pollution as their gross sticker campaign, i even saw them posted at piss level eye spots on toilets. They are a terrible knockoff of bad pink floyd and primus belching vocals. it is not a sell point. It is a turn off. Please to future bands, don’t sticker like that, we will all hate you…

Went to the one stop lat night for a show. Was suprised to see a lot of the dive-bar regulars there. We felt very out of place and continued to get nasty looks throughout the night. I have been an Ashevilel resident for 10 years and was disappointed in the attitude brought by many of the guests. Nice job with the remodeling and bringing in acts, but if the regular customers continue to bring that attitude to the venue then the business will fail.
