Last year, local musician/composer/filmmaker Ben Lovett gathered a cast of local actors, artists and film crew and shot what would be the eight-plus minute video for his song, “Black Curtain,” another track from his album Highway Collection. (Previously, Lovett released the action-packed video for “Ghost of Old Highways.”)
“Black Curtain” was filmed at the Masonic Temple in downtown Asheville. It was directed by Paul Schattel, produced by Kelly Denson and Daniel Greenspan, and stars Mandy Lauderdale. The short film/music video was premiered last week in a special event at Isis. This week, Lovett released the film on Vimeo. Watch it here:
