French pop band General Bye Bye takes its first U.S. tour this month, and will play Club 828 on Friday, Aug. 20. Fellow French band Hold Your Horses! joins the bill, along with local acts Saint Solitude and Wages.
General Bye Bye front man Philippe Beer-Gabel talked to Xpress about why the band wants to tour the U.S., why they write their songs in English, and how they’ve organized the tour through CouchSurfing.org. Couch Surfing, by the way, is how Beer-Gabel met Asheville’s Dup Crosson and former WNC musicians The Baker Family Band.
