Despite snow in the forecast for this week, the atmosphere promises to be downright balmy at One Stop on Thursday, March 7. It’s a night of funk, soul and tropical dance. Supatight, from Boone, specializes in hard-hitting funk, with elements of reggae, soul, jazz and comedic country. Marina Orchestra, from Knoxville, “is inspired by music from all over the world, and there is an inherent jubilance that the sun-soaked eleven piece group radiates.” And Deepfried 5, from Nashville, says its sound is “reminiscent of 60s and 70s funk and soul, the music takes you back to when it was pure.” 10 p.m., $5. Or get in for free: Xpress will give away a pair of tickets to the show on Wednesday, at noon, via Facebook.
Smart bets web extra: Deep Fried 5, Supatight and Marina Orchestra
