Sound Track: It all comes down to this

Local musician/composer Danny Peck, aka dep, is set to release his next album on Thursday, March 20. A prolific artist, dep has recorded around a dozen projects since Xpress first reviewed his album, Start Loving the Robots. Keeping in the spirit of previous releases, It all comes down to this fuses dance beats with symphonic swells. Melodies are heartwarming and expansive, starlit and shimmery. But, unlike dep’s previous work, the tracks of It all comes down to this include vocals. Sung by the composer, the lyrics are heart-on-sleeve and poignantly of-the-moment. They tap themes of love, kindness and a life well-lived. Vocalist Stephanie Morgan (stephaniesid) guests on “Make It Be.” Morgan is among the local artists who’s work Peck has remixed in the past. She also appears on dep’s Ever Looming.
