Local indie-pop favorites Stephaniesid and quirk-duo Two Man Gentlemen Band (from Long Island) both announced, via their Web sites, plans to perform at Bele Chere.
• Pitctured: Asheville’s stephaniesid (indie-pop) sets the bar pretty high when it comes to tight musicianship, artful lyrics, cutting-edge sound and (in the case of front woman Stephanie Morgan) an I-wish-I-could-raid-her-closet sense of style. The band—oft-tapped for indie compilations, and touring most recently behind Warm People—plays a rare local show at Bele Chere.
• The Two Man Gentleman Band (quirky vintage swing) is based on Long Island, but by the looks of their near-constant tour schedule, the road is this band’s home. Duo Andy Bean (vocals, plectrum banjo, lead kazoo) and Fuller Condon (vocals, string bass, tenor kazoo) perform their upbeat, niche-y tunes (“Drip Dry,” “Fancy Beer”) with enough aplomb for a full band.
