The Market Place (20 Wall St., downtown Asheville) held a grand re-opening party last week to celebrate its revamped interior layout and menu. The renovation emphasizes the bar area, creating a more lofty, urban vibe. Small plates are featured heavily on the lower-priced menu, allowing for a snack at the concrete bar to go with one of the Market Place’s new cocktails. If we sound overly effusive, it’s not intentional. The place truly has fresh energy, and it’s hard not to feel excited for the restaurant’s young chef, William Dissen.
The Market Place is now open daily for lunch. Check the website to view both the lunch and dinner menus, and the restaurant’s hours.
All photographs below were taken by Michael Oppenheim Photography. Oppenheim’s work is featured at The Market Place and will soon be featured at Vinnie’s Italian in north Asheville. Oppenheim was also part of the Look Up Asheville project, a photographic exploration of Asheville featuring prose by Laura Hope-Gill, available through Grateful Steps Publishing.
We ate there last week and the food was awesome!
Good work and good luck!
Really? The only way you could get photos of the restaurant was to use photos with a big “O” filled with advertising? Hope you didn’t have to pay someone for advertising in your own mag! :)
