Local online retailer The Oko Box is known for comfy, stylish organic and sustainable clothing. Hemp and bamboo shirts, dresses, pants and undies make up the bulk of the business. And owner Leslie Richard is obviously a bit of a clothing fanatic, because she keeps adding to the store’s offerings.
Next up: “Re-wear” or second-hand vintage pieces such as colorful trench coats and ‘70s-era dresses. Why? Because recycled clothing is, according to Richard, “the most eco-friendly way to shop.” Her hand-picked items will soon include menswear.
Also new: A line of bold form necklaces made from 100 percent organic cotton cord and stone, gemstone, shell or glass pendants. Each sells for $16.50.
