Tressa’s turns the big 10

Tressa’s Downtown Jazz & Blues (28 Broadway, Asheville), a longtime staple on the local club scene, celebrates 10 years of business on Wednesday, July 4.

While the 10th birthday may not mean much for elementary schoolers (no driver’s license, no voting rights), in the business world, it’s milestone of considerable proportions. Try to name another downtown Asheville bar that can claim a decade of slinging drinks, booking bands and signing in members … and not too many leap readily to mind. The club world is a fickle one, but Tressa’s has proven to be steadfast.

Owners Terri and Tressa kick off Independence Day and the club’s birthday with drink specials and music by blues-jam maven Peggy Ratusz.
