Gallery and studio/artist and writer development center ZaPow! was brought into being by husband and wife duo Lauren and Matt Johnson. According to their bio, “Lauren is the money manager and planner. Matt is the big picture dreamer. Lauren is the creative artist; Matt is the pragmatic software developer and tester.”
The space, at 21 Battery Park, Suite 101 in Asheville, offers an online art gallery as well as “original art from comics, graphic novels, picture books, and other narrative and illustrative forms.” There is also physical gallery space that can be rented for as little as $55 per month. Services for writers (critiques, editing and publishing) is available, along with creative promotion services.
ZaPow holds a grand opening party tonight, Friday, Oct. 14, from 7-9 p.m. Wee Heavy-er Scotch Ale from French Broad Brewery and music by The Mad Tea Party are on the bill.
