Anyone thinking root-beer float?

• What he’s wearing: Faux-vintage A&W tee from Hot Topic (his friend works there, so he got a discount); retro polo from a thrift shop; retro track shoes from Journeys; jeans from Aeropostale.

• Why we love it: Okay, so Michael got most of his outfit from the mall, but he’s still managed to create something unique. The key is the thrift-shop shirt peeking out from the vintage-logo tee (and really, there’s nothing wrong with those — as long as everyone and their brother doesn’t insist on reviving AC/DC a la Shania Twain).

In case you missed Of Sky and Sea, the recent multimedia art-and-fashion show by local designers R. Brooke Priddy and Kelledy Francis, an exhibit of the work from that event is on display at Satellite Gallery (55 Broadway, 350-9940) through Aug. 11. Other artists represented include K.L. Dunn and Katya Moorman, Chris Fryar, Greg Ascroft, Marston Blow, Nicole McConville, Kathryn Temple, Meg Reilley and Wink Heads & Threads.

Boga Global Fashion

Recently opened boutique Boga Global Fashion (32 Biltmore Ave., 253-2642) offers a colorful selection of handmade jewelry, bags and scarves from Brazil and Madagascar. Also from Brazil, athletic apparel in breathable polyamide that looks sleek enough to wear on the town, and soft, lightweight denim in men’s and women’s styles. Check out Boga’s selection of denim jackets (hint: updated jean jackets are big for fall).
