Gather at the Garage for Anam Cara

Here’s the word, from the folks at Anam Cara:

Gathering at The Garage: A Fusion of the Arts,” benefiting Anam Cara Theatre Company, will be held Saturday, March 13, at The Garage at Biltmore. This eclectic gathering of art, music and theatre will feature music from singer/songwriter Katie LaRue with Emily Ryane, a silent art and local goods auction featuring local artists and area businesses, and a chance to win cash prize in the 50/50 raffle. The night will conclude with a late night dance party featuring popular Asheville DJ – DJ Drea. Doors open at 7 p.m. $5 – Advanced tickets available at Firestorm Café and The Asheville Area Arts Council.

Anam Cara Theatre Company is one of Asheville’s newest up-and-coming independent theatre companies. Our production of The Vagina Monologues last year raised over $1,000 for REACH, a domestic violence shelter. Our goal is not only to entertain, but to produce socially conscious theatre that speaks to the Asheville community.

Anam Cara Theatre Company aims to produce progressive work that provides audiences and company members alike, with an experience that makes evident the eternal connection of all humanity, in turn promoting social change, and striving for the equality of all people.

Anam Cara Theatre Company finds value in all of the arts and strives to produce an eclectic mix of work that is not exclusive to simply traditional theatre. We often incorporate music and art, as well as the written and spoken word into our productions, creating a unique blend of multiple art forms, achieving a distinctive aesthetic that sets us apart from other theatre companies.

The auction includes some sweet items, including gift certificates from The Organic Mechanic, Diana Wortham Theatre, N.C. Stage, Asheville Community Theatre, Flat Rock Playhouse, the Biltmore Estate, Craggie Brewing and a bunch more
