103.3 AshevilleFM to run spring fund drive April 30 to May 6

Press release:

Asheville, N.C. (April 11, 2016) – 103.3 AshevilleFM is launching its Spring Fund Drive on the Mexican family holiday of El día de los niños!We’ll have family fun and activities on Saturday, as well as weeklong events to bring out the kid in all of us. The drive runs from April 30th through May 6th, with the goal of raising $11,000. All community members can drop by the studios at 864 Haywood Road from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. during the week for tours of the studios, free coffee from Firestorm Cafe, lunch from local restaurants, and our $1 record bins!

The station has been broadcasting over the airwaves at 103.3 in Asheville and Buncombe County since May 2015, reaching local listeners on the radio in addition to our loyal followers who have continued to stream on AshevilleFM.org since 2009. The volunteerrun station is home to more than 50 weekly, locallyproduced shows.

The diversity of voices and a huge variety of content make 103.3 AshevilleFM stand out in Western North Carolina…

  • AshevilleFM boasts the only locally produced, Spanish language programming in Asheville;
  • 21 women produce 30 percent of the onair content;
  • This year alone, AshevilleFM played more than 35,000 different songs;
  • Democracy Now! is the only syndicated programming;
  • Show hosts range from ages 11 and up.
