Green Party Presidential Candidate Jill Stein to Speak at UNC Asheville Nov. 15
Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein will speak at UNC Asheville, together with Bruce Dixon, managing editor of Black Agenda Report, at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 15 in UNC Asheville’s Highsmith Union in Alumni Hall.
This free, public event, titled Green-Red Alliance: Building a Radical Party of the Left – a conversation with Jill Stein and the ISO, is sponsored by the International Socialist Organization (ISO), one of more than 70 student organizations on the UNC Asheville campus. Jessica Burroughs, a UNC Asheville student and member of ISO, also will speak at the Sunday evening event.
Stein, a Massachusetts physician and environmental activist, ran for president on the Green Party ticket in 2012, and she is seeking that party’s nomination again in 2016.
Dixon, formerly a political field organizer in Chicago, has lived in Georgia since 2000 and is co-chair of the Georgia Green Party. A political analyst and journalist, he co-founded the online Black Agenda Report and continues to serve as its managing editor.
