AC-T: Asheville’s Tiger Mountain buys Emerald Lounge

Here’s an excerpt from the Asheville Citizen-Times article:

Longtime downtown music club Emerald Lounge has been sold to Sean Bickford, the owner of Tiger Mountain, a Broadway Street bar. Bickford will close his bar this weekend — Saturday is the last day of business — and he hopes to have Tiger Mountain up and running in the former Emerald Lounge location, at 112 N. Lexington Ave., by Aug. 8.

The Emerald Lounge ran into financial hard times during the winter, according to former owner Christina Brunell-Fortini, who held a series of fundraisers to keep the doors open, even after putting the business up for sale. At the same time, Tiger Mountain’s owners began having landlord trouble, said Bickford.
