Here’s an excerpt from the Asheville Citizen-Times article:
ASHEVILLE — A Virginia-based company wants to build a new adult care home on an 18-acre site near the Thoms Estate subdivision in North Asheville.
The adult care facility would include a 24-bed unit for Alzheimer’s and dementia patients, according to Jordan Qualls, health care regulatory attorney who has worked on the application filed with the state.
The certificate of need application seeks to relocate 99 beds from the now-closed Canterbury Hills Adult Care Home to a new facility on Elk Mountain Scenic Highway that would open in 2015. …
Canterbury Hills closed last summer following years of complaints from neighbors.
