Toy Boat Community Art Space 101 Fairview Rd. Asheville, NC 28803Accordion Time Machine, Anam Cara’s experimental theatre ensemble, is delighted to bring you their latest production, which will run for two nights. This February, we bring you “Photosynthesis,” a show exploring photographss, taking pictures, moments captured in time through photos, and interesting extrapolations on our own interpretations of it all. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door. The performances take place at Toy Boat Community Art Space 101 Fairview Rd. Asheville, NC 28803 www.toyboatcommunityartspace.com. The show technically starts at 8pm but audience members are highly encouraged to arrive early, as Accordion Time Machine likes to host a range of fun surprises before the show “begins.” More information about the group can be found at www.anamcaratheatre.org/atm.
Accordion Time Machine performs once every 2 months. They work together collaboratively to produce original material for their shows. They are influenced by the non-illusory theatre aesthetic of the NeoFuturists of NYC and Chicago where there is no suspension of disbelief and the audience/performer conventions of traditional theatre are held loosely. The audience can expect pieces that are raw and personal, silly and absurd, and that incorporate audience interaction and the element of surprise. Accordion Time Machine and Anam Cara bring a unique theatrical experience to the community. Anam Cara Theatre Company strives to provide the community with progressive, thought provoking theatre that incorporates music, art, and the written and spoken word into productions, creating a unique blend of multiple art forms.
